FilePress — Privacy Policy

FilePress ("the app", "we", "our") is an offline PDF and image toolkit for Android, published by Aoufi Labs. This policy explains what data the app handles, where it lives, and your rights.

1. Files you process

FilePress reads the files you pick and writes the results into its own folder on your device. Nothing is transmitted anywhere at any point.

• Your documents and photos — compressed, converted, merged, split, signed, scanned or edited entirely on the device's own processor. FilePress has no upload path in its code.
• Results — saved into the app's private storage (a FilePress folder containing Compressed, PDF, Images, Scans, Signed and Renamed). They are yours to share or export whenever you choose.
• Originals — never modified. Every tool writes a new file; even "rename" makes a copy and leaves your original untouched.
• Text recognition, face detection and background removal — performed by Google ML Kit's on-device models, which are bundled inside the app. They work in aeroplane mode, and the images they read are never sent to Google or to us.

2. Data stored on your device

• Recent files — the name, size, folder and time of files the app produced, so you can find them again. Stored in the app's own preferences and clearable from Settings.
• Preferences — theme, language, pinned tools and the last size target you used.
• Saved signature — only if you switch on "Remember this signature". Stored as an image in the app's private folder and deletable in one tap.
• Temporary working copies — while a job runs, and when another app shares a file into FilePress. These are swept automatically and can be cleared at any time from Settings.

PDF passwords are never stored. When you unlock a protected PDF, or set a password on one, that password exists only in memory for as long as that screen is open. It is never written to preferences, to the recent-files list, or to any log.

Uninstalling the app removes all of it. Because none of it exists on a server, there is no remote copy to delete — or to leak.

3. Data we collect

None. FilePress has no account system, no sign-in, no analytics or crash-reporting SDK, and no server of ours. We cannot see your files, your file names, or how you use the app.

4. Permissions the app requests

• Camera — only when you use the document scanner or take an ID photo. Images go straight into the tool you opened.
• Internet — used solely to load ads. No file data is transmitted.
• Advertising ID — used by Google AdMob (see below).

FilePress deliberately requests no storage or photo-library permission. It uses Android's own document and photo pickers, so you hand it one file at a time and it never gains access to the rest of your gallery or storage.

5. Advertising (Google AdMob)

• A single banner appears on the home screen only — never inside a tool, never next to your documents, and never on a progress or result screen. There are no full-screen or pop-up ads.
• An optional rewarded video is offered before unusually large batches. It is always optional: declining processes your file for free, and the app never withholds a feature behind an ad.
• Google AdMob may process limited device data (such as IP address and the advertising identifier) for ad delivery, fraud prevention, frequency capping and aggregate measurement, as described in Google's Privacy Policy and Google's Advertising Policy.
• In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, a consent form from Google's User Messaging Platform is shown before any ad is requested, and no ad loads until you have answered it. You can change your answer at any time from Settings → Ad privacy choices.
• The ads SDK never receives your files, file names, or anything you do inside a tool.

6. Children

FilePress is a general-purpose utility, is not directed at children under 13, and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.

7. Data security

Results are written into the app's private, sandboxed storage, which other apps cannot read. The strongest guarantee FilePress offers is architectural rather than cryptographic: there is no network code that could send a file anywhere, so there is no transfer to intercept and no database of ours to breach.

8. Your rights

Because we hold no data about you, requests for access, correction, or deletion can be satisfied entirely on your device: clear the recent-files list and cache in Settings, delete individual outputs, or uninstall the app to erase everything. 9. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, the new version will be posted at this address with an updated date above.
